Can you edit Google reviews?

The short answer

Only reviewers can edit Google reviews, and only their own, from Google Maps. A business owner can't change what a customer wrote, but can edit or delete their own reply at any time. If a review is outdated because you fixed the problem, reply saying so, and you may ask the customer whether they'd like to update it.

If you wrote the review

  1. Open Google Maps and go to your profile.
  2. Choose Reviews.
  3. Open the review's menu and choose Edit, or Delete.

If you own the business

  • You can edit or delete your reply from your Business Profile.
  • You can't edit, hide or remove a customer's review.
  • You can report a review that breaks Google's policies.

When a review is out of date

If the complaint is resolved, add or edit your reply to say what changed. You may ask the reviewer whether they'd consider updating it, as long as you don't pressure them or offer anything in return.
