Google reviews with images: what owners can and can't do

2 min read · Updated

The short answer

Customers can add images to Google reviews, and those photos appear on your profile. Owners can't remove them, but can report ones that break Google's policies, like photos of people without consent or unrelated images. Photo reviews of good work are some of the most persuasive content on a profile, so it's worth inviting them.

What owners can do

  • Report a review photo that breaks Google's policies.
  • Reply to the review, photo and all.
  • Add your own photos to the profile separately.

What owners can't do

  • Delete or hide a customer's photo.
  • Ask customers to remove a photo in exchange for anything.

Inviting photo reviews

When the finished work looks good, say so: "If you post a review, a photo of the result helps other people see what we do." It's especially effective for trades like painting, landscaping and remodeling.
