Optical Retail &Eyewear Brands

Turn frame data, inventory and availability into a trusted layer for people and AI agents.

Business Truth / Product Truth / Agent Readiness

Make your eyewear catalog usable by AI agents.

For optical retailers, eyewear distributors and frame brands. Lehvel connects product data, frame attributes, inventory and availability into one trusted layer, so customers, retailers and AI agents can find the right product and take the next step.

The shopper's question

“Find me a tortoise acetate frame, rectangular but not too boxy, around a 52 to 54 eye size with a wider bridge, near me, and nothing too pricey.” A person asks that of an AI assistant the way they'd ask a good optician. The assistant can only answer as well as your information lets it.

A frame isn't one product

Every frame is a set of versions. One style comes in several colors and two or three eye sizes, and each combination has its own code and its own stock. “Do you have it in tortoise, 52?” is a question about one of them, at one store.

Fit is in millimetres. Eye size, bridge and temple, and on many frames the lens width, height and diagonal, are stated by the maker. An assistant should repeat them, not estimate them from a photo.

Styles retire. A discontinued frame can still be on your board, or gone everywhere. The maker's successor is a replacement. A frame that merely looks close is a suggestion to try on, not the same fit.

Your product data already moves between optical systems

Optical frame data is well standardized. Frame catalog services give each style, color and size a product code with its measurements and status. Practice-management and POS systems load that data, track frames by location, and move stock between offices. Lab ordering platforms carry the job. Try-on tools show how a frame looks.

Lehvel doesn't replace any of them. It's built to read what they already say, with each fact's source attached, and make it usable by AI agents.

Can ChatGPT tell a customer which frames you actually have in stock?

Not today, for most stores. The pieces exist, but in different places. The frame catalog knows what a frame is. Your inventory system knows whether you have it. The brand's store locator knows who sells the brand. None of them gives an outside AI assistant a current answer it's allowed to repeat about one frame, at one store, with a way to reach a person.

What the frame is. Established by the maker and the catalog. The same everywhere.

Whether you have it. Established by your inventory, by location, and it changes every day.

What an assistant may say. Established by you: which facts are public, which are “ask the store,” and what a request is allowed to do.

One request, five steps

Take the tortoise frame. For your store to be the answer, five things have to be true.

What Lehvel does

One record of your company. Locations, hours, the brands you carry, retail or wholesale, services and how to reach you, kept consistent on your site, Google and the AI assistants shoppers use. We call it Business Truth.

Frames AI can read. Brand, style, color, measurements, material, shape, status and approved images, read from the catalog data and maker files you already use, each with its source. We call it Product Truth.

Stock with a time on it. Which location has which version, answered only from a current reading of your system. An old reading becomes “ask the store,” and a missing one is never “out of stock.” We call it Operational Truth.

You decide what's public. Each fact is public, on request, or internal. Wholesale pricing never reaches an AI assistant through Lehvel.

A check on what AI actually says. We ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity about your stores, your brands and sample frames, and compare their answers with your record.

A controlled way to ask. One action: an inventory inquiry about a specific frame, sent to the right location for a person to answer. It never holds a frame, quotes a price or places an order.

What Lehvel doesn't touch

Prescriptions and eye health. No prescriptions, measurements for a prescription, exam results, insurance benefits or patient records. Those stay with your practice systems and your staff.

Your optical systems. Lehvel isn't a practice-management system, a POS, a lab system, a try-on tool or a frame catalog. It reads from them.

Lenses, for now. Lens products have their own industry standard and depend on the prescription. They're a later step, not where this starts.

What's live and what isn't

Live today. Websites, search presence, checks of what the major AI assistants say about a company, and one managed record of the business behind it.

Building. The frame record, with each style, color and size and its measurements and sources; store availability with the time it was read; read-only answers for AI assistants; and an inventory inquiry that lands with the right location. We want one optical retailer and one eyewear brand to build it with first.

Not on the table yet. Holding a frame, booking a fitting, wholesale quotes or orders through an AI assistant.

We can't promise that any assistant will send a shopper to your store. We can make sure that when one asks, your business has a correct, current answer and a way to take the request.

Retailers, distributors and frame brands

Optical retailers. Your locations, the brands you carry and which store has which frame, so a shopper's assistant can send them to the right door.

Distributors. Your current catalog with measurements and status, and what can ship this week, for the retailers and buying assistants that ask.

Frame brands and manufacturers. Your styles as you describe them, the stated successor for each retired style, and which authorized retailers carry them.

Questions

Does Lehvel replace Frames Data or our frame catalog?

No. The catalog says what a frame is. Lehvel is being built to read catalog data as a source, only through your own subscription; there is no Frames Data integration or partnership today. What Lehvel adds is your stores, your stock and the rules for what an AI assistant may say about them.

Do we need to replace our practice-management or POS system?

No. We start from what you publish, then add a stock export from the system you already run, under your permission.

Does Lehvel handle prescriptions or patient information?

No. Lehvel works only with business, product and stock facts. Prescriptions, exams, insurance and anything about a patient stay with your practice and its systems.

Will an AI assistant say a frame is out of stock when it isn't?

Not from Lehvel. A store with no current reading is “ask the store,” never “out of stock.”

We're a frame brand, not a store. Does this apply to us?

Yes. Your styles, measurements, retired styles and their successors, and which retailers carry you are what a buyer's assistant asks about.
