Lehvel Research

Lehvel Research publishes what we measure about how businesses are described by search engines and AI assistants, and the outside research we rely on. Each figure comes with its sample, its dates and its source, so it can be checked and quoted accurately.

How we publish research

Every number has a source and a date.

Who or what was measured, when, and a link to where the figure was published.

Our own data shows its method.

The system, the calculation, the sample size, the date range and what was excluded, next to the figure.

Small samples are called small.

An early result is published as an early result, with its size, and is not stretched into a claim about everyone.

No customer is exposed.

Customer data is published only as anonymized totals. No business is named without its permission.

Nothing is invented.

No composite AI score, no estimate presented as a measurement, and no number we could not confirm at its source.

Reviewed every quarter.

Figures are re-checked at the source. Anything not checked recently is marked on the page as due for review.

Where Lehvel’s data comes from

Our measurements come from the same systems customers use. Lehvel Observatory records what AI assistants say about a business and checks each claim against its facts. The Business Checkcompares a business’s information across its website, Google and the listings customers use. What they find, in anonymized totals, becomes research.
